Probiotics have made a big splash in the world of wellness, but why take a probiotic supplement? You’ve heard that probiotics are good for your digestion, but your GI tract is also home to around 70% of your immune system, plus it communicates with your brain to influence cognition and mood. That’s a lot of factors dependent on a healthy gut!
So with all the options on the market, where do you even start? Swanson’s #1 best-selling customer favorite probiotic, Dr. Stephen Langer's Ultimate 16 Strain Probiotic includes more than four times the number of strains compared to many popular probiotic formulations. While other supplements provide only two strains of bifidobacteria, Dr. Langer's formula delivers four. And while some have only one strain of lactobacillus, we feature eleven, including L. reuteri, which was recently added to improve the formula because of the unique protective abilities it offers for colon health and immune system function. Along with S. thermophilus, this variety of probiotic strains encourages a diverse microbiome for better overall digestive health compared to single-strain formulas.
And that's not all. A synbiotic formula, it also includes prebiotic FOS. Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are naturally occurring plant compounds. They are non-digestible, meaning they arrive in the intestines intact where they function as prebiotics, i.e., ‘food’ for probiotics, and promote intestinal integrity. Additionally, we feature ConcenTrace® trace minerals, which you won't find in just any off-the-shelf product. Prebiotics and trace minerals are absolutely vital to the enzymatic processes necessary for healthy digestion and the maintenance of beneficial bacteria.
Don't be fooled by mass market products that over promise and under deliver—products that also cost more than they should. With this state-of-the-art formula you'll feel the difference in as little as one month. It's the ultimate probiotic at a truly affordable price.

FAQ
- What are probiotics and what do they do?
Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that help support a healthy balance of bacteria in the digestive tract. These live cultures naturally occur in the body and can also be found in certain foods and dietary supplements. Probiotic supplements are commonly used to support digestive health, maintain a balanced gut microbiome, and promote overall wellness as part of a healthy lifestyle. - How long does it take for probiotics to work?
The time it takes to notice benefits from a probiotic supplement can vary from person to person. Some individuals may notice changes in digestive comfort or regularity within a few days to a few weeks, while others may require longer periods of consistent use. Factors such as diet, lifestyle, and the specific probiotic strains used can influence individual results. As with most supplements, daily consistency is important for best results. - Can I take probiotics and prebiotics together?
Yes, probiotics and prebiotics can be taken together. Probiotics provide beneficial microorganisms, while prebiotics are specialized fibers that help nourish those microorganisms and support their growth. Because they work in complementary ways, many people choose to include both in their daily wellness routine to help support digestive and gut health. - How do I choose the right probiotic supplement?
When selecting a probiotic supplement, consider factors such as the probiotic strains included, the number of colony-forming units (CFUs), storage requirements, and your individual wellness goals. Different probiotic strains may offer different benefits, so it's important to choose a product that aligns with your needs. Look for high-quality supplements from trusted brands and follow the suggested serving directions for optimal use. - What makes Dr. Stephen Langer’s Ultimate 16 Strain Probiotic different from single-strain probiotics?
Stephen Langer’s Ultimate 16 Strain Probiotic features a blend of 16 different probiotic strains along with FOS (fructooligosaccharides), a prebiotic that helps nourish beneficial bacteria. The delayed-release vegan capsules are formulated to help protect the probiotic cultures as they pass through the digestive tract. - Is Dr. Stephen Langer’s Ultimate 16 Strain Probiotic suitable for special diets?

It is vegan, non-GMO, gluten free, and dairy free, making it a convenient choice for individuals seeking digestive wellness support while following specific dietary restrictions.
